Carver County, in collaboration with the City of Waconia, is working to identify transportation system improvements at the Highway 10 and Waconia Parkway North intersection on the western edge of the City of Waconia. Highway 10 is an important roadway in Carver County providing connections to multiple communities and accommodating vehicle, pedestrian, bicycle, transit, and freight traffic alike.
Highway 10 has continued to see continued growth in traffic demands due to the County's population growth. The additional traffic demands are creating more intersection conflicts and making it difficult at certain times of the day to enter Highway 10 from Waconia Parkway North. The initial work on this project will include a study to evaluate concepts that will improve future traffic operations, reduce crash risks and alleviate safety concerns.
