We begin accepting camping reservations for the year on the second Tuesday in January each year. Shelter and Community Room reservations are taken one year in advance (terms and conditions do apply).

Are there lifeguards on duty at beach facilities?
Lifeguards on Duty 2015: June 6th - August 10th, 7 days a week between Noon and 6:00PM as weather permits* at Lake Waconia & Lake Minnewashta Regional Park Beach Facilities. There are no Lifeguards at Baylor Regional Park Beach Facility.
*Lifeguard Services are Weather dependent. The staffing decisions are made by Parks Staff. Please contact the Parks Office if you have concerns about a particular date. To learn more about beach rules & regulations click here.
Daily and Annual Park Permits can be purchased at each park area from either the gate attendant or honor box. Annual Park Passes can also be purchased from the Campground Office at Baylor Regional Park and the Parks Office located in the Carver County Public Works Head Quarters Building in Cologne or over the phone with a credit card: 952-466-5250. What are the Baylor Campground office hours?
The campground office does not have specified hours except that it is open on Friday evenings until 8pm and Saturdays from 9:00am-4:00pm. If you arrive at the campground and the office is closed, please call the campground host phone number listed on the sign outside the office and they will assist you: 612-209-0109.
Can I hunt, fish or trap in the park areas?
Hunting and trapping of any kind is not permitted within the park or trail areas, those in violation are subject to penalty. Fishing is allowed within park areas, however is only allowed in designated areas of fishing pier(s) and docks. FISHING FROM BEACH AREAS IS NOT PERMITTED. When can I check-in for camping?
Check-in time is 3:00 P.M. daily & check-out time is 2:00 P.M. daily. If the campground office is not open, please call the campground host phone number listed on the sign outside the office & they will assist you.
Are dogs allowed in your parks?
Dogs are allowed in most areas within the parks but are required to be on a leash at all times. Areas in which dogs are not allowed include the beaches, playgrounds and picnic shelters. Dogs are allowed in the campground at Baylor Regional Park but are required to be on a leash. Dogs CANNOT be tethered to a post or tree in the park areas. Do you allow alcoholic beverages in the parks?
Carver County Parks does allow beer and wine in its parks. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the beach and at the playgrounds. Additionally, kegs and glass containers of any kind are not allowed.
