What is Geocaching?
Geocaching is an entertaining adventure game for GPS (Global Positioning System) users. Participating in a cache hunt is a good way to take advantage of the wonderful features and capability of a GPS unit while enjoying the outdoors. The basic idea is to have individuals and organizations hide caches all over the world and share the locations of these caches on the internet. One of the most popular sites is 'geocaching.com'. GPS users can then use the coordinates of the cache locations to find the hidden items. Once found, a cache may provide the visitor with a wide variety of rewards. When the geocacher finds and collects an item from a cache they should replace the collected item with one of equal or greater value so that the next visitor can find treasure too!
How do you pronounce "Geocaching"? You pronounce it geo-cashing, like cashing a check.
