Schedule an appointment for passports, Enhanced ID, REAL ID, or a title transfer. Appointments provide priority service, but a short wait may be necessary. Please check in with greeter upon arrival and let them know you have an appointment.
The Chanhassen Center is not a state testing station for driver's licenses:Visit the Chaska facility for written and road tests, to pay a driver's license reinstatement fee, or to apply for a new Minnesota State ID Card.
Driver's License Exams: This is a shared facility with the State Exam Station. Visit the Chaska facility for driver's license written tests and road tests, to pay a reinstatement fee, or to apply for a new Minnesota State Identification (ID) Card.
State exam testing station hours are: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Written exam hours are: 8:30 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday
Toward the end of our business day you may be given a ticket stamped "standby." We will make every effort to serve those with a "standby" ticket before closing, but cannot guarantee service. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you. Standby process is supported only at Chaska License Center and Chanhassen Service Center.
Driver's license and ID changes coming in 2020
Until October 2020, your standard driver’s license or ID card is acceptable for domestic air travel, access to most federal facilities and remains valid for identification and lawful driving privileges. Credit cards (accepted at Government Center only)
Accepted: Visa, Mastercard or Discover Card
