APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR 2015 SUMMER YOUTH PROGRAM HAS PASSED! (DEADLINE WAS 4/30/15. CONTACT SHANNON QUIGLEY--CONTACT INFO. BELOW--IF QUESTIONS.)
PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION BELOW VERY CAREFULLY AS PROGRAMMING IS CHANGING IN 2015!!
PLEASE NOTE: Due to changes in federal legislation, our recruitment focus is shifting to OUT-OF-SCHOOL youth (although if you are still in school, you may still apply—*see note below!). This is defined as someone ages 16-24 that has either graduated or received their GED, or has dropped out of school (should be attending but has not attended in the last available academic quarter). The youth must live in Carver County and they must also meet other eligibility criteria. It is essential that you fill out the application completely and provide all needed information/verification so that we can determine eligibility.
*If you are a younger, in-school youth (ages 14-21 and still in school, live in Carver County and meet additional eligibility criteria) you should still apply, but slots for this population will be more limited than in the past.
Applications are no longer available. Print the cover letter for more information and use the CURRENT documents! (Past versions of forms will not be accepted due to changes in eligibility criteria.) You will also need to print the application, fill it out, and return it to Carver County Workforce Services, with all additional necessary documentation. A school official needs to fill out the last 2 pages for verification purposes for in-school youth. Depending on future guidance we receive from the state and federal government, there could be additional supplemental forms that are required later. If you are applying for Youth Build (a construction program through SW Metro Co-op that provides work experience plus certain academic credits), you must fill out the application AND have someone from your school fill out the Youth Build referral form AND the SW Metro credit form.
Contact Shannon Quigley at firstname.lastname@example.org or 952-361-1602 if you have any questions.
Application deadline is April 30th, 2015.
(*We are also recruiting work-sites!! If you have ideas for work-sites, they must be arranged PRIOR to start of the program in June. Either provide contact information (name of supervisor and phone number or email) to Shannon or have your contact call or email Shannon directly to make arrangements for participation. The site must meet program requirements per state and federal regulations, and must agree to our rules for supervising and evaluating youth.*)
