Carver Healthy Families is a voluntary, public health home visiting program for moms and dads who are having their first baby. The program is dedicated to helping first time parents of any age develop positive parenting skills, and support child health and development. Each enrolled parent is partnered with a trained Public Health Nurse who will visit their home throughout pregnancy, and until the child is 4 years old.
Carver Healthy Families is part of the Metro Alliance for Healthy Families, which is a metro-area collaborative of 9 counties and 1 city. In June 2015, the Metro Alliance for Health Families received national accreditation from Healthy Families America. This national program is highly effective, and based on more than 30 years of research. Please visit Healthy Families America website for more information.
