Carver County Health and Human Services is responsible to provide services to children and families living in Carver County. When children cannot remain in their own home due to neglect, abuse, or behavior problems, Foster Care is used as a temporary arrangement while families receive the help they need. Foster Care provides a network of caring, stable people who are willing to help not only the child, but also the child's family to support the child returning home.
There is currently a significant need for child foster care homes in Carver County.

Carver County has had a 42% decrease in the number of non-relative/kin child foster homes.
In the last two years 44% of children that were placed out of their parents care spent at least one day in a non-relative or kin home.
Carver County has had a decrease in child foster care homes and an increased in need. This problem has a negative impact on children and families in our community.
