The Carver County Mental Health Advisory Council is comprised of mental health consumers, family members of consumers, and providers. We work toward improving the needs of those who are experiencing mental illness by educating ourselves on what the needs – both met and unmet – are in Carver County. We then report to the Board of Commissioners regarding our findings and make recommendations on what mental health needs require attention. Currently, we have twelve members on the Council.
Meetings: We meet the second Tuesday of every month from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the First Street Center in Waconia. Meetings are open to the public and we encourage people with interests in mental health needs and services to attend.
There are currently 2 roles that need to be filled on the Mental Health Advisory Council. The vacancies are:
* A representative of the children's mental health local coordinating council
*A family community support services program representative
If you would like to apply to become a member of the Carver County LAC, you may contact County Administration at 952-361-1503 to receive a printed application or apply online at co.carver.mn.us and complete the Advisory Committee Application.
