Park News & Alerts
UPDATE 10/18/17 - PLEASE BE ADVISED!!
Please be advised of park operational changes regarding the public boat accesses within Lake Minnewashta Regional Park beginning October 18th.
The Carver County Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Staff, as part of the County Planning and Water Management Organization, Minnehaha Creek Watershed District and MN DNR, recently found zebra mussels near the dock of the water access. The finding will result in the deployment of water containment barrier in an attempt to eradicate the zebra mussels near the immediate ramp location. The containment barriers needed for water treatment will prevent all watercraft from entering/exiting the lake from this access.
The former boat access #2 will also remain closed during the estimated 10 -14 days while treatment is being applied at access #1.
We are working closely with the County AIS Staff and will provide additional information as it is available via our Parks webpage – specifically located on the Minnewashta Regional Park page (see boat access section).
We apologize for any inconveniences from these operational changes. We appreciate your communication and flexibility with us.
Additional information on the water treatment effort or AIS service can be found through the Carver County Planning and Water Management Organization webpage or by phone 952-361-1871.
