Annual Sealcoating Projects Begin This Week
Carver County’s Annual Sealcoating projects around the County start this Wednesday July 26-28; and then again Monday July 31 to August 4, 2017, weather / rain dependent.
County Operations and Maintenance crews, along with H.G. Meigs, LLC, will roll through their sealcoating and chip-sealing operations according to the numbered sequence on the attached 2017 Sealcoat Plan. As noted, crews will begin work on the Segment #1 / CR 50 road section west of CR 51 to CR 31 in and around the City of Hamburg and Hancock Township. Then, thereafter proceed to Segment 2, 3, and so on until work is finished on Segment #10: CR 10 in Chaska.
Please be advised that there will be a rolling, mobile traffic control operation for each section, with ½ of the road open as flaggers and crews do their work. There will be lane closures, temporary stoppages, and 1-way traffic for each of the sections. Each section takes roughly one (1) day to complete. Traffic control signs noting “Loose Gravel” and “40 mph” are planned.
On Aug 7-11, roughly 1-2 weeks after the initial sealcoat, crews will sweep each section of final loose chip seal, and thereafter the annual striping program will place new traffic markings.
