LandShark is a web based system which grants the user access to Carver County Land Records.  It has been in place at Carver County for several years at no charge to the users.  On November 25, 2008, the Carver County Board of Commissioners approved the implementation of user fees for the LandShark system.  As of February 1, 2009, users of the LandShark system will be charged a flat fee of $2 per document viewed via the system.  These fees will be applied to offset the costs of upcoming enhancements to the system which will be available in the early part of 2009, including the addition of land records that are not currently available.

In order to facilitate this transition, the Carver County Property Records Department will need to reset all user IDs in the LandShark system.  On January 30, 2008, all current users of the LandShark system will be disabled and new user accounts will be turned on.  LandShark will be unavailable on January 30 & 31 while we activate your accounts.  To avoid further interruption of service, users should complete the registration process as instructed on the Carver County website by January 16, 2009.  Submissions received after that date will be processed as quickly as possible but Carver County cannot guarantee uninterrupted service.

Each user group or organization will be required to select an Administrative user that will create and maintain all Regular user IDs and passwords for the organization.  This Administrative user will receive their user ID and password from Carver County in January.  The Administrative user may begin to use this new user ID and password to create Regular users within the system upon receipt.  However, both Administrative and Regular users should avoid using their new login and password to view images in the system until February 1, 2009 to prevent early charges being applied to the account.
