Breastfeeding Coalition

Public Health is a member of the Carver-Scott Breastfeeding Coalition. The mission of the Breastfeeding Coalition is to promote, protect, and support breastfeeding as the normal and preferred method for feeding infants and young children. The vision for the Carver-Scott Breastfeeding Coalition is that:

Every child will be given equal opportunity for optimal health and well-being through breastfeeding.
Every family in Carver and Scott counties will have access to accurate information, resources, and community support necessary to breastfeed for as long as they desire.
Healthcare professionals will be knowledgeable and skilled in breastfeeding support.
Local communities will have increased public awareness, acceptance and understanding of the value of breastfeeding.
