Disease Prevention and Control
Public Health serves as a resource for information on Infectious Diseases for school nurses, parents, child care and healthcare providers who are looking for educational materials, information on specific diseases, vaccines, prevention and control of infectious disease. Public health nurses offer follow-up services to individuals exposed to or diagnosed with an infectious disease.
To prevent the spread of disease, Public Health promotes the state health department's Cover Your Cough Campaign and offers Immunization Services, including vaccination schedules for all ages and answers to specific questions about immunizations. Call the Public Health Information and Resources line at 952-361-1329 for assistance or email public-health@co.carver.mn.us.
Low-cost vaccines are made available to the public through Public Health walk-in Immunization Clinics from 3-5 p.m. the second Monday of each month in the Carver County Government Center Administration Building, 600 East Fourth Street, Chaska. The staff assists local healthcare providers, nursing homes, schools and child care providers in use of the statewide immunization registry, the Minnesota Immunization Information Connection MIIC Registry.
