Improvement in Student Performance
This winter, the Metro Children’s Water Festival
planning committee has been busy reviewing the results of last year’s water festival, and planning for next year.  An important measure of the festival’s success is the (before and after the festival) improvement seen in student performance on questions about topics they explored at the water festival.  The results were very impressive again this year.

Preparing for the Next Festival (... and Still Looking for Sponsors)
As of now, the prospects for being able to put on another festival in September look very good.  However, to go forward, the festival is dependent on donations from sponsors each year.   For this reason, the committee members are still working hard to find sponsors to ensure we can continue to put on the festival this year and beyond.  Other challenges that lie ahead include selecting and signing up classes to attend the festival, recruiting the many presenters and other volunteers that are needed for the festival, making sure we have festival site plans, agreements and logistics squared away for both a good (weather) day and a rainy day scenario, plus obtaining and preparing all the equipment, food, signs, etc., that will be needed for the festival.
