  • Blue Thumb - Planting for Clean Water

  • Catch A Wave! (learn about the energy, speed and size of waves)
  • Down the Dirty Drain (learn where stormwater goes)
  • Water Matters! Recyclable Roundup
  • FLUSH! The Water Story (where does the water go when the toilet gets flushed?)
  • Singing Rivers (Sing about Minnesota’s great rivers)
  • Backyard Water Recycling (septic systems)

Swimmer pops up from under the waterHundreds of fifth grade students from the seven metropolitan twin cities area counties came to learn about our most precious natural resource: water. The presenters at each learning station worked hard to get their message across to the students.

Congratulations to all those students that gave it their best effort and learned how they can help ensure that we will have enough good quality water in the future.  And thanks to all the classroom teachers, festival presenters and other volunteers who helped make the festival a great experience.

How big was the 2007 Metro Children’s Water Festival?  Approximately 1100 students attended!  In addition, many teachers, parents and volunteers participated.
