In Response to Propane Shortage, State SEOC Activated
MN Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Management has activated the State Emergency Operations Center to coordinate response efforts across all state agencies and certain not-for-profits to help local governments respond to and recover from this emergency.
The Minnesota Department of Commerce has local contact information for heating assistance.
The Salvation Army has infused an additional $100,000 into its HeatShare program to help people in need with the cost of propane. Read more about it here.
Governor Mark Dayton has declared a Peacetime State of Emergency in Minnesota in response to a severe shortage of propane and other home heating fuel supplies statewide. Read Emergency Executive Order 14-02 in its entirety.
State Opens Hotline for Propane Questions
The State Emergency Operations Center has established a public hotline for Minnesotans with propane issues or concerns. The hotline is staffed with experts from the Minnesota Department of Commerce and will be open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Propane Shortage Consumer Information
- Conserve energy as much as possible. Turn down thermostats and be aware of your propane use.
- Reach out to family and friends for assistance.
- Check on your neighbors.
- Check with your local emergency management agency to find resources in your community. Click here for a list of county emergency managers.
- Call 911 only in a crisis
- If you need heating assistance, call the Commerce Department for more information about the Low Income Heating Energy Assistance Program at 1-800-657-3710 or go online to the Energy Assistance section.

Carver County Crime Mapping is an interactive, web based, mapping application designed to keep citizens of Carver County informed about criminal activity in and around their neighborhood. Select crime is shown in the application from within the past 90 days. The Carver County Sheriff's Office maintains data for all Carver County jurisdictions with the exception of the City of Chaska (please see the City of Chaska website for further information). This data will be updated on a regular basis.
