Welcome to the Carver County Sheriff's Office web site. Carver County is located in the southwest metro area and is one of the fastest growing counties in the state. With the exception of the city of Chaska, which maintains its own police department, the Carver County Sheriff's Office is responsible for law enforcement coverage to all of Carver County. The cities of Carver, Chanhassen, Cologne, Hamburg, Mayer, New Germany, Norwood Young America, Victoria, Waconia and Watertown, as well as Watertown and Laketown Townships contract with our office for additional services.

The rapid growth in population in the eastern portion of the county and the rural western agricultural portion of the county, as well as increased industry makes this a very diverse county. This diversity, along with the changes in law enforcement technology, provides a unique challenge to the members of this department in being able to satisfy the needs of our citizens.
The Carver County Sheriff's Office currently has over 200 full-time, part-time and voluntary positions within the department. It is the responsibility of the Sheriff's Office to preserve peace and order within Carver County. As the highest ranking law enforcement official in the county, the Sheriff ensures that each and every member of his department upholds strict standards in order to accomplish this. The members of the Carver County Sheriff's Office are eager to assist the citizens of Carver County. Our goal is to make any contact you may have with our office pleasant and comfortable.
