"It is the goal of the Sheriff's Office to utilize Community Volunteers, Office Members and County Fire Services to provide the most effective response plan for water related incidents & training"

The Sheriff's Dive Team covers the entire Carver County area which has 29 lakes and 2 rivers.  The dive team has been increasingly utilized due to the rapid growth in the county and the presence of Lake Waconia, the second largest lake in the metro area.  The team is a group effort composed of several independent agencies which adds an additional level of coordination complexity.

The Sheriff's dive team has joint cooperation between the following organizations:

Minnesota Manatees (2000)
Carver County Sheriff's Office (2000)
Carver Fire Department (2002)
Chaska Fire Department (2002)
Victoria Fire Department (2005)
Chanhassen Fire Department (2006)

By rigorously training, the dive team is prepared to respond quickly and safely to a variety of life threatening incidents.  The dive team meets twice per month to cover equipment, procedures and techniques.  In addition, the team trains with other agencies such as the Shakopee Fire Department Dive Team on a regular basis.

The experience and certifications of the Sheriff's dive team are well respected.  The average diver has over 10 years of experience.
